From the Desk of the Band Manager:
The Pipes and Drums had a very busy winter season. The 2010 tour started off on a sad note. We were called upon to honor Delaware River Port Authority Officer Cpl. Milito who was killed in the Line of Duty. Please keep Cpl Milito’s family and brother officers in your prayers. The tour continued on with The Bellmawr FD annual banquet this closed out the month of January. Then on to February which was to be the start of a very busy tour schedule. We started off February with our 30 Day’s till St.Pats party at the Coastline (Thank you to all of our supporters who came out and supported the pipes and drums once again), then it was on to Casey’s Pub for the Upper Darby Firefighters MDA Benefit, we also played the Camden County Hero Scholarship Dinner and the Philadelphia Police Survivor’s Polar Bear Plunge in North Wildwood NJ (a little Irish Weekend tease at Keenan’s Pub). On to March! The pipes and drums kicked off March with our St.Patricks Day Party. The band took a little break before we hit the road again. The band then loaded up on vans and airplanes and headed south to Savannah Ga. For their Saint Patrick’s Day Parade. We had the honor of marching with a 100 piece massed band in this parade-The National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums. As half the band was in the warm south our brother’s who could not make the trip made the rounds at two local bars that supports the band in so many ways- The Taproom and Schileens Pub! Job well done brother’s!!! After the long march in Savannah, eight members of the band loaded on to yet another plane and made their way to Suan Juan Puerto Rico. The band was hired to play a convention in Saun Juan, another great honor for the band!!! But there was to be no break for the band. One week later we had the honor and privilege to play for one of our band members and his new bride on their big day! The month of May again has the band on the road for the band has been chosen- AGAIN to be the Host Band for Police Memorial Week in Washington DC. The band had the honor to be the host band about 8 years ago and have been chosen again to have this great honor.
Again, thank you for all of your support and please check the web-site or face book page for upcoming performances and Police Week schedule.

The Camden County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums were formed in 1995 by members of Chapter 10 of the Emerald Society of the State of New Jersey who realized the need for a police and fire band. We are comprised of active and retired policemen, firemen, emergency medical technicians and former U.S. military members.
